Israel Tours

DAY 1 – U.S. GATEWAY, TEL AVIV
We gather at New York “JFK” Airport as we prepare for our night flight to Israel. Dinner and breakfast will be served on board according to airline schedule.

DAY 2 – ARRIVE TEL AVIV, JOPPA, NETANYA
We arrive in the early afternoon at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. Once we have gone through passport control, we’ll meet our land agent who will take us through customs and to our awaiting bus. We stop briefly at Joppa, the port made famous by Jonah’s flight from God’s directive. Here, Peter saw the sheet of animals lowered from Heaven as God commissioned him to carry the gospel to who would be the first Gentile convert, Cornelius. We move on to our hotel on the shore of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea for dinner and a chance to see the magnificent sunset before turning in for the night.

DAY 3 –THE PLAINES OF SHARON, CAESAREA, MEGIDDO, TIBERIAS
Following our first Israeli breakfast we journey northward by motor coach along the coast to Caesarea. This ancient Mediterranean city contains many ruins, most of which date back to the Crusader period. Prominent among these are the hippodrome, the ancient theater, and the fantastic aqueduct, nestled at the base of Mt. Carmel. We will visit the cave where he meditated before defeating the 450 prophets of Baal. We then travel to Megiddo (Armageddon,) Nazareth, and Cana where Jesus preformed his first miracle. Dinner and overnight at Tiberius, on the Sea of Galilee.

DAY 4 – GALILEE, MT. OF BEATITUDES, CAPERNAUM, BOAT RIDE, BAPTISM – JORDAN RIVER
Nothing is quite as spectacular as a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee, and that will be only the beginning of what will be one of the most meaningful days of your visit. Eleven of Jesus’ twelve disciples were from Galilee. We will get to ride in a boat and see where Peter, Andrew, John and James were fisherman and where Jesus walked on water. We will visit the Mount of Beatitudes, where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount, Capernaum, the hometown of Jesus and Tabgha, where Jesus fed the 5,000. We end the day at Yardenit where those who wish to be baptized in the waters of the Jordan River will have the opportunity to do so. We return to our accommodations for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 – GOLAN HEIGHTS, CAESAREA PHILIPPI, TEL DAN, BEIT SHEAN, JERUSALEM
After breakfast we ascend from 687 feet below sea level as we drive north to the Golan Heights and the Hula Valley. We proceed to the base of Mt. Hermon, stop at Banias, “Caesarea Phillippi” of the Bible and the major source of water for the Jordan River. Here Peter made his great confession and Jesus made His promise to build His church. We will also visit the Banias Waterfall, Tel Dan and Nature Reserve. From here we head south to Beit Shean, one of the best preserved Decapolis Roman cities. In Beit Shean, the bodies of King Saul and his sons were hung from the city walls after they were defeated by the Philistines. After ascending 4,000 feet in just 13 miles, we will arrive on top of the beautiful Mt. of Olives to behold the breath-taking panorama of the Holy City. We walk down to the Church of All Nations (Basilica of the Agony); adjoining is the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was betrayed. In the ancient olive grove, we will have prayer in the same place where Jesus prayed on the evening before His crucifixion. At the close of this amazing day we will arrive at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 – JERUSALEM
We depart early morning to the Old City and enter through the Dung Gate, walking to the holiest site in the whole Jewish world, the Western Wall of Herod’s temple. Beyond the wall lies the 35 acre temple area purchased by King David. On this site now stands the Dome of the Rock (the third holiest shrine in all of Islam). Next we visit the southern wall excavations. We will see the massive stones erected by King Herod, as well as sit on the very steps used by Jesus and his disciples. From the temple area, we make our way to St. Stephen’s Gate and the Sisters of Zion Convent to see the pavement where Jesus stood as He was being tried by Pilate, Ecco Homo Arch, St. Anne’s Church and the Pools of Bethesda, where it is said Jesus healed the paralytic. We then follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher and the ancient cardo. Late in the afternoon we pass by Rachel’s Tomb on the outskirts of Bethlehem. We visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd’s Field. We return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 – EIN GEDI, QUMRAN, MASADA, DEAD SEA FOR SWIM/FLOAT
After breakfast we leave Jerusalem as we descend to the Dead Sea and the wilderness of Judah. Our first stop will be Masada, where we will ascend high upon the wilderness mountain by way of the cable car to the fortress built by King Herod. Here we survey the ruins of the fortification, waterworks, synagogue, temples and palaces. From here we proceed to Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul. We stop for lunch at Qumran where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. After lunch there will be a chance to wade or swim in the salty waters of the Dead Sea before driving back to our hotel.

DAY 8 – SHRINE OF THE BOOK, MODEL CITY, HEZEKIAH’S TUNNEL, GARDEN TOMB
Every day is a highlight in the Bible lands, and today will begin with our visit to the City of David and the new excavations of David’s palace. Those who want to will then take an optional adventurous walk through the waters of Hezekiah’s tunnel. Be sure to bring a flashlight and good water shoes with you, as you will get wet walking through the tunnel. We will then sit on the steps of the Siloam Pool where Jesus sent the man who had been born blind, who after he washed the clay from his eyes, regained his sight. From here we drive to the Israel Museum, housing the Model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple on a scale of 1:50. It is here that you will get a complete view and understanding of the different locations we have visited during our time in Jerusalem. The Museum is also home to the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. We will proceed to Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Memorial. From here we proceed to Gordon’s Calvary (Golgotha) and the Garden Tomb or to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre for our private communion and worship.

DAY 9 – JERUSALEM
A leisurely breakfast for everyone, and the day is at your leisure. Time to revisit the places of most interest or to return to the old city for some last minute shopping – do not neglect to haggle with the shop keepers for the best bargain, it is part of the experience. We meet again late afternoon at the hotel, load our luggage and depart for our farewell dinner and evening transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for our return flight back home.

DAY 10 —ARRIVE HOME
We arrive back to the USA in the morning, thanking the Lord for a safe trip and a life-changing experience as we bring with us lasting memories of the Old and New Testament and the unforgettable spiritual odyssey of our time together.
Day 1 – DEPART USA
We begin our journey as we gather at the airport preparing for our flights to Israel. Meals and entertainment will be available according to airline schedule.

Day 2 – ARRIVAL – BETHLEHEM
We arrive at Ben Gurion International Airport, go through passport control and meet our agent who will assist us as we pass through customs and security. We are then transferred to our deluxe air-conditioned motor coach. Time permitting we will have a brief visit in the ancient city of Joppa (Acts 9-11) before proceeding to our hotel in Bethlehem.

Day 3 – HERODION – THE THRESHING FLOOR – ISRAEL MUSEUM – YAD VASHEM – BETHLEHEM
We start our day at Manger Square and enter the Church of the Nativity – one of the oldest churches in the world. A citadel built fortress like on top of the cave where Jesus was allegedly born to Mary. See the adjoining Franciscan Church of St. Catherine dating back to 1881. This is what we each December 24thwith the midnight mass being broadcasted all over the world. Driving about 6km south east to nearby Herodion, a fortress built by Herod the Great . It is one of his most ambitious building projects. It is the only site out of so many built by King Herod that bears his name. The complex built between 23 and 20 B.C.E and was only first discovered in 1962. Walk up to this impressive complex to explore both upper and lower Herodion and then walk the escape tunnels dug during the first revolt of the Jews and the Bar Kochva revolt against the Romans. Drive along Shepherd’s Field passing by threshing floors along the fields of Ruth and Boaz. This afternoon we visit Israeli Museum where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. A magnificent outdoor out door model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple on a scale of 1:50. It is here that you will get a complete view and understanding of the different locations you will be visiting during our time in Jerusalem. Proceed to Yad Vashem (The Holocaust Museum) to be reminded of the recent tragedies of the Jewish people and the rebirth of the modern State of Israel. We make our way back to Bethlehem in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 4 – MASADA – EIN GEDI – QUMRAN – DEAD SEA – BETHLEHEM
Our full day of touring begins today with a drive to Masada. The cable car will take us up to the 1,000 foot fortress built by Herod the Great, and famous for the zealot’s three years of resistance against the Romans. We will take the cable car to the top and take an adventurous and invigorating walk down the Snake Path. We continue on to Ein Gedi, where King Saul’s life was spared by David. We will look out over the oasis (time for sharing – Psalm 142 – the prayer of David from a cave). We will have an opportunity to climb the waterfalls at Nahal David. A short hike will take us to visit the Fortress factory built in the 1stcentury AD for the manufacturing of the perfumes. Next we stop for lunch at Qumran, the settlement of the first century sect known as the Essenes and the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls. We will have a chance to hike near some of the caves where the scrolls were discovered between 1946 – 1956. Today we also have the great opportunity to experience floating on water in the Dead Sea (the name was given by Christian pilgrims traveling here over the centuries who were aghast at the lifelessness they encountered). This is the most saline body of water on the face of the earth and is surrounded by the starkest scenery of steep cliffs of reddish flint that rise to the west, contrasting with beige limestone bluffs and blinding white salt flats. Across the shimmering gold surface of the water to the east, you can see the mauve and purple mountains of the biblical Moab and Edom, another spectacular backdrop of ragged earth. Perhaps take a mud bath to rejuvenate your skin and it also offers a great photo opportunity. After showering, our long day ends with the drive back to our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 5 – BEIT GUVRIN – – VALLEY OF ELAH – BEIT SHEMESH – NAHSOLIM
We depart this morning to Beit Guvrin – Maresha National Park, which extends over 1,500 acres at an altitude of 820 – 1,150 feet above the sea level. Here there are hundreds of bell shaped caves caused by ancient Roman quarrying. We will participate in an active dig for a few hours, sifting dirt and excavating for a firsthand experience of how archaeological digs look and feel. From here we proceed to the Valley of Elah to see the brook from which David selected his stones and we will talk of David’s defeat of Goliath (1 Samuel 17) as we re-enact the events in our hearts and minds. Continue on our short drive to Beit Shemesh – House of Sun, named after the sun goddess “Shemesh” worshipped here. We will have the opportunity to see several of the important and unique archaeological discoveries made in recent digs. Driving toward our unique home for the next two nights at the seaside resort located on the beach of the Mediterranean-Sea.

Day 6 – CAESAREA – HAIFA – AKKO –ROSH HANIKRA – GALILEE
We start our day in the place known today as Caesarea National Park which has seen many changes. Between the 6th – 4th centuries BCE it was Phoenician fishing village, in 30 BCE the Romans awarded the village to Herod who built this city in 12 years in honor of his patron Octavian Caesar, and remains the crowning glory of his achievements. There are walls and a moat surrounding the city, an impressive Roman theatre with its 4,000 stone seats still in use today, and remains of the Roman palace with beautiful pools, altars and more. East from here we arrive at the aqueducts where we will climb the steps to the top and walk along the length of one of them. Walking along the top of the longer of the two aqueducts you will see three inscriptions left by soldiers of the 2ndand 10th Roman legion. From here we drive to Haifa on top of Mount Carmel, visit the Stella Maris Church and the Carmelite Monastery. It is here that Elijah the Prophet prayed and God defeated 400 prophets of Baal with fire from heaven. From the observation deck we will see a panorama of the Jezreel Valley. We continue north to Israel’s oldest and most important coastal city, Akko, steeped in 4,000 years of history with minarets and church steeples. We visit the best preserved crusader city in the country. We enter Templars Knights Hall and walk through their hidden escape tunnels, see the hostels that were once available to pilgrims and the Khan al Umdan at the entrance to the Venetian port. Our next and last stop of the day will be at Rosh Hanikra (Head of the Grotto) along the Lebanese border. Two thousand years ago it was known as the ladder of Tyre. We take the cable car to view the naturally sea carved grottos/caves, and the remains of the railway which once connected Istanbul with Egypt. Return to our accommodation on the shores of the Mediterranean in time for dinner and even a swim or a leisurely walk along the beach.

Day 7 – MEGIDDO – NAZARETH – SEPPHORIS – ARBEL – TIBERIAS
We begin our day at the ruins of “Tel Megiddo” one of Joshua’s victories dating to 4,000 B.C. It has been made famous for being the site where the final battle will take place and hence given the name to Armageddon. Moving on to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus and see the Church of the Annunciation. We proceed to visit Sepphoris – the city where Jesus might have worked with his step father Joseph as a carpenter in the restoration of the city after it was destroyed by the Romans. It is a spectacular 1st century city known for the Mona Lisa mosaic and it was the 2nd century BCE capital of Galilee. Here is our unique opportunity to touch, to feel and to experience life as it was in ancient times when Jews and Christians, synagogues and churches, existed side by side. After lunch we make our way to the cliffs of Arbel. A spectacular view awaits us of both the western and northern shores of the Sea of Galilee. Those who wish will have a chance to hike the cliff into Wadi Hamam. Passing half the way along the ciff will be a fortress dating back to the 17th century AD. Our day will end with a boat ride enjoying a quiet and peaceful worship service together.

Day 8 – AROUND THE SEA OF GALILEE
There is nothing quite like witnessing a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee, it is spectacular. As these are the shores where Our Lord Jesus Christ walked and Peter and Andrew fished. We head to Capernaum His hometown for two years ( Matt. 4:13) and where He called his disciples. Next we visit Tabgha and the Mount of Beatitudes before we proceed north to visit Banias, and its refreshing waterfall. “Banias” is a corruption of the Greek Panaeas, and here we see the cave and the remains of an ancient temple built in honor of Pan, the Greek god of the forests. We walk through this national park and see some impressive Roman and old Crusader ruins. This afternoon we will enjoy a rafting experience on the River Jordan at the Hasbani River. Time permitting we will travel to the eastern edge of the Golan to an old military base called Bental. From here we can see Quneitra, in southern Syria, and Lebanon. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 9 – BET SHEAN – SACHNE – JERICHO – WADE QELT (ST GEORGE MONASTERY) – JERUSALEM
Departing from Tiberias we drive to Beit Shean and visit the Tel of Beit Shean, reflecting 6,000 years of civilization. It was once one of the 10 most important cities in the Eastern Mediterranean. We will see the well preserved Roman theatre, colonnaded street, and the ruins of a temple that collapsed during an earthquake in the 8th century. The excavations here revealed 18 superimposed cities. We proceed to Gan Hashlosha (Sachne), where we take time for a swim in the natural river fed by springs of fresh water and hot mineral springs, which keep the water temperature at 83 degrees throughout the year. Here under the waterfall, or in one of the three pools, an optional baptism will be offered. We stop for lunch and then drive to Jericho, the first city to be captured by Joshua as part of his conquest of the Land. From here we proceed on our drive toward Jerusalem and en route stop to look over the Valley of Nahal Prat – Wadi Qelt, home to the Greek Orthodox Monastery Saint George, and to the oldest Jewish synagogue in the world (Jeremiah 13:5). What a breathtaking view! We end the day arriving in Jerusalem and enjoy dinner in our hotel.

Day 10 – JERUSALEM
Our day in Jerusalem starts with a panoramic view from the Mt. of Olives – to behold the breathtaking panorama of the holy city. We will walk the Palm Sunday road stopping at Dominus Flevit from where Jesus went to the city. Arriving at the Church of All Nations (the Basilica of the Agony) adjoining is the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus had His agony and was betrayed. We stand among massive and ancient olive trees. From here we proceed to the southern wall excavations, seeing the massive stones erected by King Herod. We will walk up and sit on the same steps used by Jesus and His Disciples. At Mt. Zion we visit the Upper Room, David’s Tomb and the Church of Peter in Gallicantu, where it is said that Jesus was imprisoned by the high priest Caiaphas. Every day is a highlight in the Bible Land and today is no exception as we enter the City of David located outside the walls of today’s Old City, south of the Temple Mount and the new excavated palace believed by some archaeologist to be that of King David. We will walk down the water system known as Warren Shaft and continue our adventure as we walk through Hezekiah’s tunnel (water shoes and a flashlight that can be worn on your head are needed). This 1,700 foot tunnel built by Hezekiah carried water from the Gihon Spring (where King Solomon was anointed as king of Israel) to the Pool of Siloam. Return to our hotel at an end of a full and wonderful day.

Day 11 – TEMPLE MOUNT – WAILING WALL – WESTERN WALL TUNNEL – DEPARTURE
Early morning we start with our visit to the Temple Mount, which today is the third holiest shrine for the Moslem world. Here is where the famous and often pictured Al Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of The Rock are located. It was here where the Jerusalem Temple stood – the location of Solomon’s Temple, rebuilt by Ezra and enlarged at the hands of Herod the Great during the lifetime of our Lord Jesus Christ. From here we walk to the Wailing Wall, the holiest place to the Jewish people. Here you may join the worshipers and leave a hand written prayer in the foundation wall of the 2nd Temple. We enter the Western Wall Tunnel to visit the rest of the wall, seeing the mammoth size stones used for the building of the Temple walls. The Warren gate the closest point to the Holy of the Holiest and the foundation stone of the universe. We will also see a portion of the streets of Jerusalem from the time of Christ. We exit the tunnel and follow the Way of the Cross passing many of the traditional Stations of the Cross on the Via Dolorosa to the Holy Sepulcher, stopping along the way to consider all that our Lord Jesus Christ endured on his way to His crucifixion.

Late afternoon we return to our hotel as we prepare for transfer and departure back to Ben Gurion Airport and our overnight flight. The close of an unforgettable tour.

Day 12 – ARRIVAL BACK HOME
Early morning arrival on US soil as we board our connecting flight home anxious to share the incredible lessons and experiences we just had. A truly spiritual odyssey of the bible land.

DAY 01 –- DEPART USA – TEL-AVIV
Tour members will depart today on our flight to Tel Aviv Israel and begin our journey as you sit back and relax for the night. Meals will be served aboard flight.

DAY 02 – ARRIVE TEL AVIV
Upon arrival in Tel Aviv where we are met by our agent who assists us through customs and security. We are then transferred to our hotel in Tel Aviv right on the beautiful Mediterranean Sea.Dinner and overnight in Netanya.

DAY 03 – CAESAREA, MEGIDDO, SEPPHORIS, NAZARETH, TIBERIAS
Today we depart for Galilee, visiting the following biblical sites: Caesarea (Acts 9 & 25), Mt. Carmel (1 Kgs. 18), Megiddo (Armageddon; 1 Kgs. 9:15; Rev. 16:16), Sepphoris, home of Joachim and Anne and birthplace of Mary; became a Byzantine administrative center and later a Crusader citadel. Continue to Nazareth (Luke 1 & 2), Cana (John 2) and Tiberias (John 6:23). Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

DAY 04 – GALILEE AREA
There is nothing quite like watching a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee. We will visit the “2000 year old Jesus Boat” that was discovered just a few years ago. We will have an opportunity to view a movie of the discovery and preservation of the boat. We will visit many biblical sites along the shore of the Sea of Galilee and in the Upper Jordan Valley, e.g. Boat ride across the Sea of Galilee; Capernaum (Matt. 4:13), Mount of Beatitudes (Matt. 5-7), Tabgha (Feeding of 5000; Mark 6), Church of Peter of Primacy (John 21), Magdala (Matt. 15:39; Luke 8:2); Caesarea Philippi (Paneas; Mark 8:27). We end our day with a baptismal service. Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

DAY 05 – BETH SHAN, JERICHO, JERUSALEM
Today we go up to Jerusalem. The highway we take will include many of the following biblical sites: Mt. Tabor (Judges 4); Ein Harod (Judg. 7:1). Our next stop will be at Beth Shan. Beth Shan was the major town from which Jews would begin their journey in earnest. The town itself lies about 375 feet below the level of the Sea, making it very hot in the summer, but delightfully warm in the winter. The main street of Beth Shan is named “Saul Street” because it was on the wall of this town that the bodies of Saul and Jonathan were hung after their deaths on Mt. Gilboa (1 Samuel 31:10-11). We continue to Jericho (Josh. 2-6; Mark 10:46; Luke 19:1). The road from Jericho to Jerusalem ascends 4000 feet in 13 miles. We arrive at our hotel in Jerusalem. After dinner we will be taken to the Western Wall for a visit.

DAY 06 – JERUSALEM, MODEL CITY, ISRAEL MUSEUM YAD VASHEM, MT. OF OLIVES, TEMPLE MOUNT, AND THE VIA DOLOROSA
This morning sightseeing will include a visit to a model of Jerusalem (1 to 50 scale model of Herodian Jerusalem as it would have appeared in Jesus’ time). Visit the Israel Museum, including the Bronfman Archaelogical Museum and the Shrine of the Book Museum where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. On to Israel’s Knesset, the huge bronze Menorah, and Yad Vashem , Israel’s Holocaust Memorial. This afternoon we begin our explorations with a drive to the beautiful Mt. of Olives to behold the breathtaking panorama of the Holy City. Our pilgrimage will proceed to the Church of Ascension, descend to Gethsemane with its ancient olive grove, and there visit the Church of Agony, where tradition holds that Jesus prayed. We will enter Jerusalem through the Dung Gate, and walk to the holiest site in the whole Jewish world, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod’s temple. Beyond the wall lies the 35-acre temple area purchased by King David (2 Sam. 24:18-25). On this site now stands the magnificent Dome of the Rock (the third holiest shrine in all Islam) and the El-Aqsa Mosque. From the temple area, we make our way to St. Stephen’s Gate, St. Anne’s Crusader Church, Pools of Bethesda, the Sister of Zion Convent (to see the pavement where Jesus stood as he was being tried by Pilate), Ecce Homo Arch, and then follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the ancient Cardo. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

DAY 07 – QUMRAN, EIN GEDI, MASADA
Leaving Jerusalem, we will descend to the Dead Sea and the wilderness of Judah. Our first stop will be Qumran and the possible settlement of the first century sect known as the Essenes, the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Following the road south along the western shore of the Dead Sea, we will stop at Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul, and everyone will have an opportunity to put her/his foot in the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on earth. Continuing south, the next stop is Masada, where we will ascend high upon the wilderness mountain by way of the cable car to the fortress built by King Herod. Here we survey the ruins of the fortifications, waterworks, synagogue, temples and palaces. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem

DAY 08 – SOUTHERN WALL EXCAVATIONS JEWISH QUARTER, CITY OF DAVID
Our day begins by visiting the southern wall excavations where we will stand at the southern entrance to the Herodian Temple. Here, we will see the ancient boulders of the Temple and sit on the steps where Jesus no doubt taught. We will also visit the City of David, the ancient part of the city that dates back to the Old Testament. Here you will the excavations, and have an optional walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel… Flashlights and water shoes will be needed. Hezekiah’s Tunnel is a 1,720 foot tunnel that ends at the new excavations at thePollo f Siloam (John 9). the famous Western

DAY 09 – UPPER ROOM – GARDEN TOMB – AFTERNOON LEISURE
We begin our final day by driving to Ein Karem village, the birthplace of John the Baptist, to see the Church of Visitation, and then go to Mt. Zion, the Upper Room, where Jesus spent those last momentous hours with His disciples before His passion, and it was also here where the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples on Pentecost. Scrolls are displayed. Late in the afternoon we will visit the Garden Tomb for Communion service. DAY 10 – JERUSALEM, TEL AVIV, ROME
An explanation of its history. Stop at Trevi Fountain to throw in our coin and ensure our “Arrivederci Roma”. Continue to Church of St. Peter in Chains to see the famous Moses by Michelangelo and the original chains in which St. Peter was brought captive to Rome. Arrive at our hotel in Rome. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 11 – ROME
After breakfast sightseeing will include: Morning – Vatican museums and Sistine Chapel: see mysterious Vatican City, the Sacred Museum, the Vatican Library and the incredible Sistine Chapel, built to the precise dimensions of the original Temple of Solomon as described in the Bible with its famous Fresco of “Genesis” by Michelangelo.

Afternoon – Catacombs, St. Paul Basilica and Old Appian Way. Motor past Tiberina Island, the Jewish synagogue, Aventine Hill and the Pyramid of Caius Cestus near St. Paul’s gate. See Basilica of St. Paul and the largest tunnels hollowed out where the early Christians persecuted by the Romans had to practice their religious rites and bury their dead. Return to your hotel via the Old Appian Way. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 12 – ROME AT LEISURE – OPTION TOUR OF POMPII
Today we have a choice to simply relax and wonder around this wonderful city on our own do some last minute shopping or sit at a café to simply people watch. Those that wish to can board the motor coach and drive to Pompeii which was ruined by the volcano that erupted on Mt. Vesuvius in 79 AD. Later afternoon return to the hotel to meet up with the others as we enjoy our dinner together.

DAY 13 – ROME – USA
After breakfast, we transfer to the airport for our flight homeward arriving early afternoon. The close of an unforgettable tour, to have walked in HIS footsteps.

DAY 01 –DEPARTURE
Meet today at the airport for our overnight flight. Once on board, sit back relax, and prepare yourself for this wonderful experience. Meal service is provided during flight according to airline flight schedule.

DAY 02 –ARRIVAL ISRAEL – BETHLEHEM
As we arrive at “Ben-Gurion” Israel’s airport, proceed through passport control – customs and security as we meet up with our land agent and tour guide that will assist with luggage and direct us to our awaiting motor coach for our drive to Bethlehem. Arriving in time for dinner and our first overnight.

DAY 03- BETHLEHEM – HERODION – HEBRON
We begin our first day with a visit to the Church of the Nativity the ancient and most interesting group of churches and monasteries, Greek Orthodox, Roman Catholic and Armenian, stands over and around the rocky cave the grotto connected with the inn to which Joseph and Mary went on the eve of the first Christmas, and it is believed, Jesus was born and laid in the stone manger. We proceed on the road that descends eastward toward Beit Sahur and the nearby plain known as the Field of Boaz as we reach the Shepherd’s Field, recalling the call of the Angels to the Shepherds. From here proceed on a short drive about 5 miles to the desert “citadel of Herodion” monstrous circular protective walls. This is considered one of the most outstanding of Herod the Great’s architectural conceits. In 2007 the tomb of Herod was found only 100 yards from this enormous site. Time and conditions permitting we will enter Hebron today to visit the burial place of the Patriarchs and Matriarchs. Special dinner tonight before retiring for the night.

DAY 04 ––CAESAREA – CARMEL – MEGIDDO – SEA OF GALILEE
We depart from Bethlehem heading toward Caesarea Maritima, built in 21 BC by Herod the Great and it became the heart of Roman rule in the land. Here will explore the Crusader fortress, visit the Roman Theatre; Herod’s Palace and the Herodian Hippodrome. We see the wonderful remains of the aqueduct that brought fresh water to the city. Re-board our bus and drive to Mt. Carmel where we will have the chance to eat authentic Middle Easter lunch. Proceed to El-Muhraqa – the place of burning- it is said to be the location of Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal. Arrive at Tel – Megiddo containing 26 stratified layers of civilizations and overlooks the Valley of Jezreel which many believe to be the legendary Armageddon. From here we proceed towards Tiberias. Time permitting we stop at the towering cliffs of Mt. Arbel, a rock climbers’ haven, but during Roman times they served as a hideout for Bark Kochba and his Jewish rebels. For those that wish to hike up a short distance to the top where a most splendid view of the entire Sea of Galilee. There is nothing more beautiful than a sunset overlooking the entire valley below. Tonight dinner will be served at our home for the next two nights at the shores of Galilee.

DAY 05 – GOLAN HEIGHTS AND THE SEA OF GALILEE
There is nothing more stirring than a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee as we awake today. Start the day with the drive to Caesarea Philippi, where Peter made the good confession of Christ as “the Son of the living God “ The sites today include Capernaum, Jesus base for His early ministry. Tabgha, where Jesus multiplied five loaves and two fishes into enough food to feed the 5,000 people who had come to hear him speak. Proceed unto the hilltop overlooking the Sea of Galilee to Mt. of Beatitudes and the Church and Monastery, where He proclaimed to the masses “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.” There will be time for reflection and worship. Our day ends as we board a replica wooden “Jesus Boat” for our boat ride as we cross the Sea of Galilee to our home for dinner and overnight at Sea of Galilee

DAY 06 – CANA, NAZARETH, GIDEON SPRINGS, GAN HASHLOSHA, JERICHO, DEAD SEA
After breakfast we travel toward the Arab village of Kfar Cana nestled among pomegranate and olive groves, where you may renew your vows in one of the two small churches. Here Jesus used his powers for the first time making the meager pitcher of water overflow with wine. Drive a few miles south to Nazareth the cradle of Christianity, the sacred town where Jesus spent much of his life. We stop at Gan Hashlosha (The Garden of Three) an impressive water system the Sachne – warm in Arabic. Weather permitting we will have a chance to swim and be baptized in the warm waters. Proceed to the biblical city of Jericho and the Tel for an excellent view of the Mount of Temptation. Dinner and overnight will be at our hotel at the Dead Sea.

DAY 07 –MASADA – EIN GEDI – DEAD SEA
Our first stop will be at Masada, where we will by way of cable car make our way to the fortress built by King Herod. We survey the ruins of fortifications, waterworks, synagogue, temples and palaces. From here we drive to Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul. There will be time to share psalm 142 and a chance to hike to the head of David’s Spring, which leads up to a beautiful waterfall, fringed in fern. Our afternoon will give us the time to swim in the waters of the Dead Sea or for those wishing to take advantage of the various spa treatments offered at our hotel.

DAY 08 –– QUMRAN – MT OF OLIVES – JERUSALEM
After our open buffet breakfast we drive a short way toward Qumran – and the settlement of the first century sect known as the Essenes, authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Re-board our motor coach and begin our ascent on the road to the majestic city of Jerusalem. Our first stop will be the Shrine of the Book museum to see the impressive 1:50 scale model of Jerusalem as it would have appeared in the time of Jesus in AD 66. We drive to the Mount of Olives where Jesus made his triumphal entry into Jerusalem. Beholding a breathtaking panorama of the Holy City, we walk down the “Palm Sunday” route to the Garden of Gethsemane. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem

DAY 09 –JERUSALEM OLD AND NEW
Our day begins by visiting the famous Western (Wailing) Wall of Jerusalem. You will have the opportunity to pray at the Wall. Next, we visit the southern wall excavations where we will stand at the southern entrance to the Herodian Temple. Here, we will see the ancient boulders of the Temple and sit on the steps where Jesus no doubt taught. We will also visit the City of David, the ancient part of the city that dates back to the Old Testament. After seeing the excavations, there will be an optional walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel. Flashlights and water shoes will be needed. Hezekiah’s Tunnel (II Chr. 29–32) is a 1,720 foot tunnel that ends at the new excavations of the Pool of Siloam (John 9). After our stop for lunch we will visit the Upper room, David’s tomb, and walk through the Jewish quarter, seeing the ruins of the Roman cardo. We will also see the newly built Menorah, a life size replica of the one that stood at the temple. Return to our hotel for dinner.

DAY 10 –– GALLICANTU – ECCO HOMO-CITADEL- HOLY SEPULCHER – GARDEN TOMB
We drive to the eastern slope of Mount Zion to the Church of Peter in Gallicantu where Jesus was imprisoned by the high priest Caiaphas. Proceed to visit the Tower of David, and on to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher that was built by the Crusaders in the 12th century. The focal points here are where the crucifiction took place, called Golgotha or Calvary and the other, the toom where Jesus was laid. These sites encompass the continuation of the Via Dolorosa and the final Stations of the Cross. In the afternoon we will visit the Garden Tomb with an optional communion service, a very special time of reflecting upon the death and resurrection of Jesus. Return to our hotel. Dinner and overnight in Jerusalem.

DAY 11 – DEPARTURE – HOME
We say farewell to Israel, arriving home filled, blessed and invigorated. We have with us memories and experiences to share with others.

DAY 1 – DEPART NORTH AMERICA
We gather today at the airport and depart aboard our overnight flight to Tel-Aviv. After take-off en route to the Holy Land, we will be served meals as per flight schedules

DAY 2 – ARRIVE TEL AVIV
We arrive in Tel Aviv where we are met by our agent who assists us through customs and security. We are then transferred to our hotel in Tel Aviv or Netanya, located by the beautiful Mediterranean Sea. Time to unpack, clean up and meet for dinner at the hotel.

DAY 3 – CAESAREA, MEGIDDO, NAZARETH, TIBERIAS
Up early this morning to enjoy our bountiful buffet breakfast before proceeding to Caesarea (Maritima), capital of the Roman Procurators of Judea. Visit the Roman Aqueduct, Port Crusader’s Moat, Byzantine Churches and the famous Roman theater (Acts 9 & 25), Proceed to Mount Carmel and on to Muhraqa where Elijah tested the gods of Baal (1 Kgs. 18). Each mile tells a story in our trip! We drive to Megiddo, site of one of Joshua’s victories, which dates back to 4,000 B.C., proceed to Nazareth, the boyhood home of Jesus, to visit the Church of the Annunciation and Mary’s well.( Luke 1 & 2) From here we move on past the city of Cana where Jesus performed his first miracle at the wedding feast by turning water into wine, and on to Tiberias, on the Sea of Galilee. Time permitting, optional Baptism in the River Jordan before arriving at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – GALILEE, UPPER GALILEE, GOLAN HEIGHTS
There is nothing quite like watching a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee from your hotel. We begin our day with an inspiring boat ride on the Sea of Galilee in a wooden replica of the “Jesus Boat.” Today will include many biblical sites along the shore of the Sea of Galilee and in the Upper Jordan Valley: e.g., Capernaum (Matt. 4:13), Mount of Beatitudes (Matt. 5–7), Tabgha where Jesus fed the 5,000 and the Benedictine Basilica of the Loaves and fishes (Mark 6), Church of Peter of Primacy where Jesus made His appearance after the Resurrection (John 21), Magdala (Matt. 15:39; Luke 8:2). Continuing on to the northern limits of Jesus’ travel, we cross the River Hatzbani to Banias Caesarea Philippi (Paneas; Mark 8:27), view Mt. Hermon (Deut. 3:8), Border of Lebanon (Josh. 11:17), and Hazor (Josh. 11:10; 1 Kgs. 9:15). Dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

DAY 5 – GALILEE, BEIT SHEAN, JERICHO, JERUSALEM
Today we go up to Jerusalem , following the Rift Valley that runs parallel to the Jordan River. We will cover the same route Jesus most frequently traveled to Jerusalem. The road will take us to many of the following biblical sites: Mt. Tabor (Judges 4); Ein Harod (Judg. 7:1); Beth Shan (1 Sam. 31:10); and arrive in Jericho, the oldest city in the world. We will pass the Tel of Jericho and view the lush green Jordan Valley. After a stop for lunch, we travel along the exciting Wadi Qelt. Using the old Roman Road we have an unparalleled view of St. George’s Monastery. Finally, we arrive on the mountains of Jerusalem and stop on Mt. Scopus for a panorama view of the city. We proceed into Jerusalem and arrive at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 – MT. OF OLIVES, TEMPLE MOUNT, VIA DOLOROSA, HOLY SEPULCHRE, BETHLEHEM
We begin our explorations with a drive to the beautiful Mt. of Olives to behold the breath-taking panorama of the Holy City. Our pilgrimage will proceed to The Church of Ascension, descend to Gethsemane with its ancient olive grove, and there visit the Church of Agony, where tradition holds that Jesus prayed. We will enter Jerusalem through the Dung Gate, and walk to the holiest site in the whole Jewish world, the Western Wall (Wailing Wall) of Herod’s temple. Beyond the wall lies the 35 acre temple area purchased by King David (2 Sam. 24:18–25). On this site now stands the magnificent Dome of the Rock (the third holiest shrine in all Islam) and the El-Aksa Mosque. From the temple area, we make our way to St. Stephen’s Gate, St. Anne’s Crusader Church, Pools of Bethesda, the Sister of Zion Convent (to see the Pavement where Jesus stood as he was being tried by Pilate), Ecco Homo Arch, and then follow the Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and the ancient Cardo. You will be fascinated by your visit to a model of Jerusalem near the Holyland Hotel (1 to 50 scale model of Herodian Jerusalem as it would have appeared in Jesus’ time), Israel’s Knesset, the huge bronze Menorah, and Yad Vashem. This afternoon we head to Bethlehem, will pass by Rachel’s tomb on the outskirts of the city and visit the Church of the Nativity and Shepherd’s Field. Return to our hotel in Jerusalem.

DAY 7 – QUMRAN, EIN GEDI, MASADA, DEAD SEA, JERUSALEM
Leaving Jerusalem, we will descend down to the Dead Sea and the wilderness of Judah. Our first stop will be Qumran and the possible settlement of the first century sect known as the Essenes, the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Following the road south along the western shore of the Dead Sea, we will stop at Ein Gedi where David hid from King Saul, and everyone will have an opportunity to put her/his foot (probably too cold to swim) in the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on the earth. Continuing south, the next stop is Masada, where we will ascend high upon the wilderness mountain by way of the cable car to the fortress built by King Herod. Here we survey the ruins of the fortifications, waterworks, synagogue, temples and palaces.

DAY 8 – THE UPPER ROOM, ISRAEL MUSEUM, GARDEN TOMB
We begin the day by driving to Ein Karem village, the birthplace of John the Baptist, to see the Church of Visitation, and then go to Mt. Zion, The Upper Room, where Jesus spent those last momentous hours with his disciples before his passion, and where the Holy Spirit came upon the disciples at Pentecost. From there we will go to the Israel Museum, including the Bronfman Archaeological Museum and the Shrine of the Book Museum, where the Dead Sea Scrolls are displayed. Late in the afternoon we will visit the Garden Tomb with an optional communion service.

DAY 9 – JERUSALEM, AIRPORT
Day without a planned program. Time to collect your thoughts; indulge your whims. Revisit the places of most interest. The Rockefeller and Hebrew Museums display a wealth of archaeological treasure. Return for a last look within the walls of the Old City where bargaining is a must. Farewell dinner before our transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for our overnight flight home.

DAY 10 – ARRIVE HOME
We arrive home with unforgettable memories to cherish always. We know that we have walked in the footsteps of Jesus and the early Christians. This will bring new meaning to our Bible reading after being on such a memorable tour and experience.

DAY 1 – US TO ISRAEL
Gather at the airport to board our plane for the overnight flight to Tel Aviv.

DAY 2 – ARRIVE IN THE LAND
We arrive at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv where we are met by our agent after passport control. With luggage on carts we proceed through customs and security and to our awaiting motor coach. Time permitting our first brief stop will be at Joppa, the port made famous by Jonah’s flight from God’s directive. Here, Peter saw the sheet of animals lowered from heaven as God commissioned him to carry the gospel to the first Gentile Convert. We will then proceed to our hotel on the shore of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – TEL AVIV TO TIBERIAS
After our first breakfast, depart from the hotel and begin our touring by entering Caesarea Maritima to explore this Roman bridgehead to the East. It became the Christian springboard to the West (Acts 9 and 25). We ascend Mt. Carmel, the site of Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18). Which also offers a panoramic view of the plains of Jezreel. We then drive to the mound of Megiddo, which gave us the English name Armageddon (1 Kings 9:15; Rev. 16:16). Proceed to the precipice of Nazareth, viewing the modern city from a spectacular vantage point. Nazareth was the ancient village of Jesus youth. We pass by Cana, commemorating Jesus first miracle of changing water into wine. At the end of our first day we arrive tired but inspired at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – TIBERIAS
There is nothing quite like watching a sunrise on the Sea of Galilee from your guesthouse or from a boat. Today will include many biblical sites along the shore of the Sea of Galilee and in the Upper Jordan Valley: e.g. a boat ride across the Sea of Galilee (stopping in the middle for a brief service); back to land for a lunch stop; Capernaum –Jesus’ town (Matt. 4:13); Standing on the Mount of Beatitudes and listening to Jesus Words where he spoke them (Matt. 5-7); seeing Tabgha (Feeding of the 5000; Mark 6), Church of Peter of Primacy (John 21), Magdala (Matt. 15:39; Luke 8:2); Caesarea Philippi (Paneas; Mark 8:27); view Mt. Hermon (Deut. 3:8), Border of Lebanon (Josh. 11:17). We end the day at sunset as we stop at Yardenit for an optional baptism in the Jordan River. Another day full of inspiration comes to an end as we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 – TIBERIAS TO JERUSALEM
Departing from the hotel after breakfast, the day begins with a drive to the Arbel Cliff, which affords a view over the beautiful Sea of Galilee and the main sites of Jesus’ ministry. From here, we head to Beit Shean, one of the “Decapolis” cities mentioned in the Bible. It was also a city to which Saul’s body was taken after he was killed on Mt. Gilboa. Next, we travel south through the Jordan Valley to Jericho. Here, we see the city Joshua conquered. From here we proceed to Bethlehem, visit the Church of Nativity and the Shepherd’s Field. Ending the day, we drive toward Jerusalem to behold this historic city for the first time. Arrive at our hotel in time for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 – THE HOLY CITY
Our day begin at the Mt. of Olives, a breathtaking panorama view of the Holy City. We will walk down from the Mt. of Olives to the Garden of Gethsemane. Next, we enter the Old City through the Dung Gate, and walk to the holiest site in the Jewish world the “Western Wall” (Wailing Wall) of Herod’s temple. Beyond the wall lies the 35-acre temple area purchased by King David (2 Sam. 24:18–25). From here, we make our way to the “Via Dolorosa” where we will visit St. Anne’s Crusader Church, Pools of Bethesda, the Sister of Zion Convent (to see the Pavement where Jesus stood as he was being tried by Pilate), Ecco Homo Arch, and then follow to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. This afternoon we visit the Israel Museum and the model of Jerusalem -1 to 50 scale model of Herodian Jerusalem as it would have appeared in Jesus’ time. Seeing the model will assist us to pinpoint the sites we have seen earlier today as well as what we will see. We also visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust Museum and Memorial. End the day as we drive back to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 – JERUSALEM THE OLD CITY
Early morning following breakfast, we begin the day by visiting The Temple Mount. We will see the Dome of the Rock where the Temple once stood. Next, we will visit the southern wall excavations where we will stand at the southern entrance to the Herodian Temple. Here we will see the ancient boulders of the Temple and sit on the steps where Jesus no doubt taught. There will be free time on own for lunch and some shopping as we head toward the Jewish Quarter of the Old City. Early afternoon, we will visit the City of David, the ancient part of the city that dates back to the Old Testament. After seeing the excavations, there will be an optional walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel, a 1,720 foot tunnel that ends at the Pool of Siloam. The pool is mentioned in the new testament as the place where Jesus has performed a miracle, as he healed a blind man (John 9-7). It is from here that we will once again reach the Temple Mount excavations with a walk through the new pilgrim route – an impressive 500 meter drainage channel, a manmade tunnel built underneath the Herodian Road. You will be impressed at its construction – which is a tribute to a king for whom quality was everything. Our day ends with a stop at the Garden Tomb for a communion service. Arrive back at our hotel in time for dinner.

DAY 8 – FROM JERUSALEM TO MASADA
Today we descend from Jerusalem through the Judean Mountains and travel through a totally different terrain that we have seen up to now. Within less than an hour drive we will be at the lowest point on earth 400 meters below sea level. Visit the region of refuge that was King David’ and the prophet Elijah at Ein Gedi and its Nature Reserve with splendid flora and fauna unique to this region only. Proceed to Masada, taking the cable car to the top. It is Masada that became a stronghold and symbol of Jewish heroism in the revolt against the Romans. We will survey the ruins of the fortifications, waterworks, temples and palaces. The day will end on the shores of the Dead Sea with the opportunity to float on the highly saline water, immerse in the sulfur pools or coat yourself with the natural black mineral mud. Relaxed and satisfied, we return to the bus and drive back to Jerusalem.

DAY 9 – JERUSALEM – AIRPORT
The last day will be free of organized touring. It will be a day to relax, return to the Old City – re-visit some of the sites, perhaps even do some last minute bargaining in the market. Return to the hotel and gather our luggage as we head to the airport with a special dinner stop on the way. As we drive to Ben Gurion airport for our flight home we are thankful and blessed to have had the opportunity to walk with the Bible open and have the scriptures come alive to us.

DAY 10 – ARRIVE HOME
We arrive back, proceeding through customs, knowing in our hearts that we will return again. Walking in His footsteps – is a life-changing experience.

DAY 1 – DEPART USA
We depart on our wide body jet to Israel. After take-off, we will be served meals according to flight schedule. Sit back and relax.

Day 2 – ARRIVE TEL AVIV
Visit Joppa on way to hotel; the port made famous by Jonah’s flight from God’s directive. Here, Peter saw the sheet of animals lowered from heaven as God commissioned him to carry the gospel to the first Gentile convert, Cornelius. Arriving at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – ASHDOD, BEERSHEBA, BEDOUIN VILLAGE, EILAT
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, drive through the Philistine country of Ashdod, Gath, Bethshemesh, Azekah, cities famous from the days of Samson, Samuel, Goliath, and David, and Elah Valley where David fought Goliath (I Samuel 17). On to Beersheba, the city where Abraham departed to take Isaac to be sacrificed, later home to Isaac and Jacob. Drive down to the Israel’s “Grand Canyon” the Maqtesh Ramon Crater and view the wilderness of Zin, the area where the children of Israel wandered for forty years. Next, you can enjoy a 30 minute camel ride (other transportation is available if desired) to the Bedouin Village where we discover Bedouin life and eat a meal in “Bedouin” style, on a matted floor in a tent. From there drive down through the Arava Valley to Timna the site of the copper mines from the time of the Pharaohs and King Soloman. Arrive at the beautiful port city of Eilat for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – SOUTHERN BORDER CROSSING IN JORDAN – DAY TRIP TO PETRA – EILAT
Early in the morning we cross into Jordan. We meet our Jordanian agents and guide there for a wonderful day in Petra, the “rose red city half as old as time.” This ancient Edomite and Nabatean capital is an amazing experience to encounter! We’ll see the Spectacular “city of the dead,” with its famed gorge, ancient streets, Temples, dwelling places and tombs, carved in the solid rock. Then we arrive at El-Ji Post, and continue the one-mile journey on horseback, or walk, passing through the famous Siq (the natural gorge) and arrive at the Treasury. In the afternoon, you wil have the opportunity to visit Roman Temple Ruins of Roman City, Nabatean Judgment Hall, Palace Tombs, famous Urn Temple, and Roman Amphitheater. DAY 5 – EILAT, DEAD SEA, MASADA, DEAD SEA HOTEL
Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast use the morning at leisure relaxing, scuba, swimming, or shopping. Visit port of Eilat, the unique Underwater Observatory. You may also enjoy a boat ride on the Red Sea along the maritime border of Jordan. Sit back and gaze over the splendid Eilat Bay and ponder the proposed route of the Exodus under Moses, which would have taken the Israelites across these same waters toward their visit with God at Mount Sinai in Arabia. Noon check out of hotel. Our motorcoach travels northward pass the sites of Sodom and Gomorrah to the Dead Sea traveling the lowest point on earth – more than 1,300 feet below sea level. We visit the remarkable site of Masada and where we ascend by cable car to the unforgettable ruins of this fortress built by Herod the Great. Here the Jewish Zealots made their last stand against the Romans following the fall of Jerusalem as recorded by the historian Josephus. Here we survey the ruins of the fortifications, waterworks, synagogue, temples and palaces. We continue to our hotel on the Dead Sea. Here we leisurely enjoy our Dead Sea Spa where you can have a swim in the most unusual body of water in the world—a delightful time you’ll remember for a lifetime. Day 6 – DEAD SEA, EIN GEDI, QUMRAN, JERICHO, SPRINGS OF HAROD, BET SHEAN, TIBERIAS
After breakfast, we travel northward seeing Ein Gedi, where David could have killed King Saul, and then from here it’s on to Qumran and the possible settlement of the first century sect known as the Essenes, the authors of the Dead Sea Scrolls. We stop to see a life size tabernacle. Visit Jericho, the oldest continuously inhabited city of the world – where the wall fell flat, where Elisa’s spring still waters the land – home of Zachias and tomb of Achan. Drive north through the Israel side of the Jordan Valley to Gideon’s Springs. Then to Beit Shean where the bodies of Saul and Jonathan were desecrated, to visit the excavations of this Decapolis city. On to the southern rim of the Sea of Galilee to our dinner at the hotel in Tiberias.

Day 7 – TIBERIAS, NORTHERN GALILEE
Sunrise on the Sea of Galilee is spectacular. We begin our day as we view the 1st century boat. These are the shores where Jesus walked and Peter and Andrew fished (John 4:18). This morning our group will visit Capernaum, Jesus’ ministry headquarters and hometown to most of His disciples. We stop at the Mount of Beatitudes then up into the Golan Heights to the base of Mt. Hermon, site of His transfiguration. There at Banyas is Caesarea Philippi of the Bible, a primary source of water for the Jordan valley. Here Peter made his great confession (Mark 8:27), and Jesus made his great promise to build his church. At Kuneitra we stand 36 miles from Damascus on the same road traveled by Paul when he met the resurrected Jesus. We begin our drive back with a stop at Yardenit for optional baptism service in the waters of the Jordan River. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight in Tiberias.

Day 8 – CANA, NAZARETH, MEGIDDO, CARMEL, CAESAREA, JERUSALEM
After a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, we travel past the Horns of Hattin…where Saladin defeated the Crusaders, through Cana…Gathhepher, hometown of Jonah (2 Kings 14:25), and walk through Nazareth…hometown of Jesus and His earthly family. Then cross the valley to Megiddo, a 6,000-year-old fortress conquered by Joshua, rebuilt by Solomon, and place of the Battle of Armageddon. We drive to Mount Carmel, where Elijah prayed fire from Heaven. From that platform, we enjoy a panoramic view of the hills of Nazareth, Mount Tabor, Mountains of Gilboa, Hill of Moreh (Gen. 12:6), the y-shaped Valley of Jezreel (Armageddon in Revelation 16:16), and the hills of Samaria to the south. All abound in Biblical narrative. According to Scripture the last battle of history will be fought in this area. We bus south along the coast of “The Great Sea” to Caesarea where the Roman theater and the aqueduct remind us about Cornelius, Phillip the Evangelist and Paul’s two-year imprisonment before his journey to Rome. Then up to Jerusalem and supper at our hotel.

DAY 9 – JERUSALEM – NIGHT VISIT TO RABBINICAL TUNNEL
This morning we visit a true 1 to 50 scale outdoor model of Jerusalem as it looked in Jesus’ time 2,000 years ago. Each time a new archaeological discovery is made, this model is updated to be accurate. Next we visit Yad Vashem (Museum of the Holocaust) to be reminded of recent history of the Jewish people and the rebirth of the modern State of Israel. Next to see the Knesset and visit the Shrine of the Book where the famous Dead Sea Scrolls are discussed and displayed. Lunch en route. We drive to Bethlehem to see Rachel’s Tomb, Shepherd’s Fields (where angels sang) and visit the Church of the Nativity, where God first saw a manger through human eyes. Time to shop before we return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 10 – JERUSALEM – CITY OF DAVID
After breakfast we go to Mt. Scopus and motor to the top of the Mt. of Olives to look across the Kidron Valley at the old walled city of Jerusalem. We walk down the side of the Mt. of Olives, following the path taken by Jesus during His “Palm Sunday” ride into Jerusalem. We view the city from the courtyard of the church where Jesus wept over the city, and then continue our descent to the Church of All Nations at the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prayed. We enter the city through the Dung Gate and walk through the excavations at the southern wall of the Temple Mount. Then visit the holiest site in the whole Jewish world – “the Wailing Wall” – at the base of the western wall of the Temple Mount. The 35-acre Temple Mount platform is entered through another gate at the top of a short incline. King David purchased this land from Arauna the Jebusite (II Samuel 24:18-25). This history of this area includes: the sacrifice of Isaac, Solomon’s temple, Herod’s temple, and many visits of Jesus. Leaving the Temple area through the “Needle Eye”, we stop at the Sisters of Zion convent to see the Pavement, where Jesus was mocked by the soldiers, the pool of Bethesda, and through the crowded streets of the Old City, we follow the “Way of Sorrows” Via Dolorosa to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. This afternoon we proceed to the city of David, where Jerusalem was born; the place where it all began. Today an archaeological garden with the amazing excavations including the Warren’s Shaft system, Hezekiah’s Tunnel which led water to the Shiloah Pool and was built within the walls in the southern part of the city. It is approximately 1,720 foot long and an experience not be missed. It ends at the new excavations of the Pool of Siloam ( John 9) Flashlights and water shoes are needed. The day’s sightseeing ends with driving back to our hotel for supper and overnight.

Day 11– JERUSALEM
After breakfast we bus to Caiaphas’ House, where Peter heard the rooster and you can see the steps that Jesus walked. We view King David’s Tomb and the Upper Room where Pentecost occurred, then through Zion Gate into the modern Jewish Quarter of old city to the Cardo, and see the instruments already constructed for the new temple worship at the Museum of Temple Treasures. We walk through the old city through the Damascus Gate to see Calvary and the Garden Tomb. Return to hotel for our farewell dinner and preparation for our return night flight home.

DAY 12 – USA ARRIVAL
This truly trip of a lifetime walking where Jesus walked comes to an end for now. We will cherish and share our experience with others so they also will come to His land.

DAY 1 – DEPARTURE US – ISTANBUL
After connecting flights from around the U.S. our journey of a lifetime begins with an evening departure on our wide body jet to Istanbul, Turkey. After take – off, we will be served meals according to flight schedule.

DAY 2 – ISTANBUL
Upon arrival at Ataturk Airport (named after the founder of the Republic of Turkey – Kemal Ataturk. We go through passport control/ purchase our tourist visa $20.00 per person. Our guide will greet us and take us to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – ISTANBUL – GRAND BAZAAR
We begin our tour this morning at the Blue Mosque, the 17th century Ottoman Mosque famous for its six minarets and magnificent interior with blue tiles, and then the Hippodrome, where chariot races took place during the Roman period. In the afternoon we continue on our visit of St. Sophia, the master piece of Byzantine architecture. This ancient basilica from the 6th century is one of the architectural marvels of all times, Visit Topkapi Palace being the most extensive and fascinating monument of the Ottoman period. We will visit the famous Grand Bazaar holding 3000 shops, stores and workshops, cafes, restaurants and so much more. Stroll thru the streets of the Covered Bazaar, the sheen of the Gold and Silver, the vivid colors and the intrigue patterns of the hand woven carpets will capture your eyes.

DAY 4 – ISTANBULBOSPHORUS CRUISE-CANAKKALE
This morningSail on the Bosporus Sea that separates Asia from Europe with a possibility to take photographs of marble palaces, ancient wooden villas of Ottoman architecture besides modern residential and luxurious apartments. After the cruise drive thru Canakkale. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 5 – CANAKKALE – TROY – PERGAMUM – IZMIR
Buffet-breakfast at hotel. Drive to Homer’s Troy. Visit the ruins of nine cities built on top each other, and an enormous reconstruction of the famous Wooden Horse. Continue to Pergamum, the ancient Pergamum, and the impressive site of an ancient kingdom. Visit the Acropolis, the Temple of Athena and the famous library. Drive to Izmir for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6– IZMIR – EPHESUS – IZMIR
Enjoy a buffet-breakfast at hotel. Depart for Ephesus, one of the world’s finest archaeological sites which are a historic and natural treasure with its mosques, churches and temples. Visit the Arcadian way, the splendid façade of the Library of Celsius and see the Amphitheater, which is still used for concerts. There will be time to shop in the many stores of the Bazaar; there are deals to be found. End our day as we drive to Izmir for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7– IZMIR – ISTANBUL – TEL-AVIV
Early departure for our morning flight from Izmir to Istanbul and to Tel-Aviv. Following passport control we will be greeted by our guide that will transfer us to our awaiting bus. Drive toward Joppa for a brief stop at the port made famous by Jonah’s flight from God’s directive. Here, Peter saw the sheet of animals lowered from heaven as God commissioned him to carry the gospel to the first Gentile converts. We will then move on to our hotel on the shore of the beautiful Mediterranean Sea for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 – TEL-AVIV – TO TIBERIAS
We begin the day at Caesarea by the Sea, the magnificent seaport built by Herod the Great. We enjoy our visit to the 2,000-year-old Roman aqueduct, a reminder of the engineering accomplishments of the Roman Empire. Next, we continue on to Mukraha, site of Elijah’s confrontation with the prophets of Baal with fire from heaven. Stop for lunch before proceeding to Megiddo (which dates back to 4,000 b.c.) and remember the prophecy that will be fulfilled in the Valley of Armageddon. Drive to the towering cliffs of Arbel, during the Roman times they served as a hideout for Bar Kochba and his Jewish rebels. From atop these cliffs, our first welcome to Tiberias with amazing views of the Sea of Galilee and all of its surroundings. Conclude the day as we arrive at our accommodation for dinner and overnight at our kibbutz home for the next three nights

DAY 9 – A DAY ON THE SEA OF GALILEE
An early walk along the shore provides a spectacular sunrise over the Sea of Galilee. Begin with a boat ride along the Sea of Galilee. Today we follow some of the stories in Mark 4–6 about the ministry of Jesus. Our stops include the Mt. of Beatitudes where Jesus preached the Sermon on the Mount, taking time to reflect upon His kingdom principles, Capernaum where we visit the synagogue. Continuing on to Tabgha (short for Hetapagon, “seven springs”) to view the mosaics in the Church of the Loaves and Fishes our Lord’s hometown for two years, We travel on an ancient trade route as we pass Hazor and then go on to Dan. Here, we walk along the nature preserve path, to the ancient city of Dan. Close by is Caesarea Philippi ( Banias) where Peter answered Jesus’ question, “Who do you that I am”. Return to the Kibbutz for dinner and overnight.

DAY 10 – CANA – NAZARETH – BAPTISM
After breakfast we depart to Cana, nestled among pomegranate and olive groves, it is here where Jesus performed his miracle – turning water into wine at a wedding reception. Those who would like to will have opportunity to renew their marriage vows. On to Nazareth the boyhood home of Jesus and where we will view the city from the “precipice” from which Jesus was almost thrown. We visit the Basilica of the Annunciation, the largest church in the Middle East. Conclude the day at the point where the Sea of Galilee merges with the Jordan River – at Yardenit Baptismal site.

DAY 11 – TIBERIAS – BEIT SHEAN – JERICHO – JERUSALEM
Our travel today takes us past the headwaters of the Jordan River as we proceed on to the incredible ruins of Beit Shean – 18 layers of civilization where Saul and his sons were nailed to the city wall. This is one of the largest finds and excavations of a Roman city with columned roman streets, mosaics, and its theater. We stop for lunch before our visit to the Tel of Jericho, a favorite spot for archaeologists. We enjoy an excellent view of the Mount of Temptation. We continue on the road to Jerusalem stopping in Bethlehem. Visit Shepherds’ field and the Church of the Nativity we arrive in Jerusalem where we view this magnificent city from Mt. Scopus. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 12 — JERUSALEM – MASADDA – EIN GEDI – DEAD SEA – JERUSALEM
We drive South to the Dead Sea – and Masadda, take the cable car to the top, visiting Herod’s mountain bunker and the last stronghold of the Jewish revolt against Rome (66–73 a.d.). Proceed to Ein Gedi and its beautiful falls, where David could have killed King Saul.Arrive at Qumran – a ruin from the days of the Second Temple on the northwest shore of the Dead Sea. It became famous in 1947 when a number of ancient manuscripts were found in nearby caves. These manuscripts are known as the Dead Sea Scrolls.After lunch , weather and time permitting we will have a chance to float in the very salty waters of the Dead Sea before driving back to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.

DAY 13 – JERUSALEM – THE OLD CITY
We begin by following the path down the Palm Sunday road to the Garden of Gethsemane and the nearby Church of All Nations. We then take a short drive through the Kidron Valley to reach Absalom and Zachariah’s Tomb. We will enter the Old City of Jerusalem through the Dung Gate, arrive at the holiest site in the Jewish religion called the Western or Wailing Wall. We ascend the walkway to the Temple Mount and learn about the holy sites of Islam at the Al Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock. The history of this area includes Abraham’s sacrifice of Isaac, Solomon’s temple, Herod’s temple, the visits of Jesus and Paul’s arrest. Next, we visit the southern wall excavations. We will see the massive stones erected by King Herod as well as sit on the very steps used by Jesus and His disciples.We enjoy a quite lunch in the Jewish Quarter. Next, we visit the City of David and the new excavations of David’s Palace. Those who want to will then take an optional adventurous walk through the water of Hezekiah’s Tunnel (1,720 feet long) We then sit on the steps of the Siloam Pool and listen to the story of John 9. Afternoon at leisure. We meet for dinner at our hotel.

DAY 14 – JERUSALEM, NEW AND OLD
Every day is a highlight in the Bible lands and today on our last day will begin with a drive to the Israel Museum, housing the Model of Jerusalem from the time of the Second Temple. What a sight. It is here that you will get a complete view and understanding of the different locations we will have visited. This area is also home to the Shrine of the Book where the Dead Sea Scrolls are housed. We will proceed to the Knesset to view the famous bronze Menorah. Depart to Mount Herzle and Yad Vashem, Israel’s national Memorial and Museum of the Holocaust. We then return to the city walls to end the day with a Communion Service at the Garden Tomb. We enjoy our farewell dinner before retiring early for the night.

DAY 15 – ISRAEL, ISTANBUL, CHICAGO
Early morning transfer to the airport for flight back home. Welcome back, arrival home in the U.S.A. the same day. This is the close of an unforgettable tour; we bring with us lasting memories of the Old and New Testament and the unforgettable Spriitual Odyssey of our time in the Holy Land. Praise be to God for a life-changing experience.

After breakfast, drive through the Philistine country of Ashdod, Gath, Bethshemesh, Azekah, cities famous from the days of Samson, Samuel, Goliath, and David, and Elah Valley where David fought Goliath (I Samuel 17). On to Beersheba, the city where Abraham departed to take Isaac to be sacrificed, later home to Isaac and Jacob. Drive down to the Israel’s “Grand Canyon” the Maqtesh Ramon Crater and view the wilderness of Zin, the area where the children of Israel wandered for forty years. Next, you can enjoy a 30 minute camel ride (other transportation is available if desired) to the Bedouin Village where we discover Bedouin life and eat a meal in “Bedouin” style, on a matted floor in a tent. From there drive down through the Arava Valley to Timna the site of the copper mines from the time of the Pharaohs and King Soloman. Arrive at the beautiful port city of Eilat for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – SOUTHERN BORDER CROSSING IN JORDAN – DAY TRIP TO PETRA – EILAT
Early in the morning we cross into Jordan. We meet our Jordanian agents and guide there for a wonderful day in Petra, the “rose red city half as old as time.” This ancient Edomite and Nabatean capital is an amazing experience to encounter! We’ll see the Spectacular “city of the dead,” with its famed gorge, ancient streets, Temples, dwelling places and tombs, carved in the solid rock. Then we arrive at El-Ji Post, and continue the one-mile journey on horseback, or walk, passing through the famous Siq (the natural gorge) and arrive at the Treasury. The day’s sightseeing ends with driving back to our hotel for supper and overnight.

Day 11– JERUSALEM
After breakfast we bus to Caiaphas’ House, where Peter heard the rooster and you can see the steps that Jesus walked. We view King David’s Tomb and the Upper Room where Pentecost occurred, then through Zion Gate into the modern Jewish Quarter of old city to the Cardo, and see the instruments already constructed for the new temple worship at the Museum of Temple Treasures. We walk through the old city through the Damascus Gate to see Calvary and the Garden Tomb. Return to hotel for our farewell dinner and preparation for our return night flight home.

DAY 12 – USA ARRIVAL
This truly trip of a lifetime walking where Jesus walked comes to an end for now. We will cherish and share our experience with others so they also will come to His land

DAY 1 – DEPARTURE
We embark on our journey to Jordan as we board our overnight flight to Amman, Jordan.

DAY 2 – AMMAN
Arriving at the Queen Alia Airport, we are met and assisted by our tour representative and head to our bus to begin touring the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, a land of mesmerizing beauty and contrast. Arrive at our hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – AMMAN – JERASH- PELLAS – UMM QAISAS
Today tour will begin with the Jordanian capital, referred to in the Bible as Ammon, or the Ammonite Kingdom, and was famous for its springs and citadel. There are a number of renovations and excavations taking place that have revealed remains from the Neolithic period, as well as from the Hellenistic and late Roman to Arab Islamic Ages. The site which is known as the Citadel includes many structures such as the Temple of Hercules, the Umayyad Palace and the Byzantine Church. At the foot of the Citadel lies the 6,000 seat Roman Theatre, which is a deep-sided bowl carved into the hill and is still being used for cultural events. Proceed to the ancient city of Jerash boasting an unbroken chain of human occupation dating back more than 6,500 years. The site is now generally acknowledged to be one of the best-preserved Roman provincial towns in the world. Hidden for centuries in sand Jerash reveals a fine example of the grand, formal provincial Roman urbanism that is found throughout the Middle East, comprising paved and colonnaded streets, soaring hilltop temples, handsome theatres, spacious public squares and plazas, baths, fountains and city walls pierced by towers and gates. Continue on our way to Pella where some of the most important events in the lives of Isaac’s twin sons, Jacob and Esau, took place. A massive Bronze and Iron Age temple recently discovered here is thought to be the best-preserved temple from Old Testament times anywhere in the Holy Land. Umm Qaisas the old Decapolis city of Gadara, with its spectacular panoramic views overlooking the Sea of Galilee, is the site of Jesus’ miracle of the Gadarene swine. It is here that He encountered a demented man who lived in the tombs near the entrance to the city; Jesus cast the bad spirits out of the man and into a herd of pigs, which then ran down the hill into the waters of the Sea of Galilee and drowned. The day ends at our hotel in Amman.

DAY 4 – FROM AMMAN – TO PETRA
Departure after breakfast to Jordan’s desert castles, beautiful examples of both early Islamic art and architecture, Their fine mosaics, frescoes, stone and stucco carvings and illustrations, inspired by the best in Persian and Greco-Roman traditions, tell countless stories of the life as it was during the 8th century. Called castles because of their imposing stature, the desert complexes actually served various purposes as caravan stations, agriculture and trade centers, resort pavilions and outposts that helped distant rulers forge ties with local Bedouins. Next to Mt. Nebo that became a place of pilgrimage for early Christians from Jerusalem and a small church was built there in the 4th century to commemorate the end of Moses’ life. From Mount Nebo’s windswept promontory, overlooking the Dead Sea, the Jordan River Valley, Jericho and the distant hills of Jerusalem, Moses viewed the Holy Land of Canaan that he would never enter. In Madaba we visit the Orthodox Church of St. George, to see the masterpiece of the 6th century AD mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land – the earliest religious map of the Holy Land in any form to survive from antiquity. Time permitting we will have a brief stop at Karak to visit the imposing castle – impressive as an example of the Crusader’s architectural military genius. We will drive along the Kings’ Highway that is the world’s oldest continuously used communication route. It linked ancient Bashan, Giliad and Ammon in the north with Moab, Edom, Paran and Midian in the south. Today we will arrive at Wadi Musa, the modern village of Petra. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 5 – PETRA
After breakfast we arrive at the visitor’s entrance to the world’s wonder and one of the most stunning attractions. We walk through the entrance reaching the dramatic Siq. See the city known as the red rock city – the ancient capital of the Nabateans from the 3rd century BC to the 2nd century AC. Visit the most interesting carved monuments such as the Treasury – imbedded in the face of the mountain that you may recognize from the final sequence of the Indiana Jones movie. This towering façade is only the first of Petra’s secrets that will be revealed today. See the 3,000 seat theatre from the early 1st century A.D, a Palace Tomb in the Roman style and the Qasr al Bint. A climb of over 900 rock cut stairs will bring you to many more highlights – an afternoon full of adventure with time to explore. It was an awe-inspiring experience, but tonight after dinner at the hotel, we have the option to return back and experience the site at night by the light of 1,800 candles. Walk through the Siq to the Treasury following the candle lit path and the haunting music of the Bedouins from the mountain ranges will make this a truly out of this world experience.

DAY 6 – PETRA – WADI RUM – AQABA
Today’s touring will take us from the magnificent Petra to the largest and most magnificent of Jordan’s desert landscapes, a stupendous timeless place. In 4 x4 vehicles we will spend several hours exploring some of the best known sites. See the canyons and water holes as we discover 4000 year old rock drawings and other treasures. The epic movie “Lawrence of Arabia” was filmed on location here, and we will understand why T.E. Lawrence described this location as” Vast, echoing and God –like”. We will find a spot to watch the sunset, an unforgettable experience! We arrived at our hotel in Aqaba located on the Red Sea in time for a late dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 – AQABA – BETHANY BEYOND THE JORDAN – DEAD SEA
After a leisurely breakfast, there will be some free time this morning to venture out to the sandy beaches and the clear blue and beautiful waters of the Red Sea. Depart Aqaba, the city in ancient times that was the main port for shipments from the Red Sea to the Far East. Heading today toward the Jordan Rift Valley. The area opposite Jericho has been identified for nearly two millennia as the area where Jesus Christ was baptized by Jon the Baptist. The stunning archaeological discoveries between the Jordan River and Tell Al-Kharrar since 1996 have identified this area as biblical “Bethany Beyond the Jordan”, the place where John was living at the time of Jesus’s baptism. And today, over 2,000 years later, people from all over the world still come to this site to be baptized. Late afternoon we check into our hotel looking across the sea to the western banks. And spend the rest of the day sunbathing, or swimming -– relaxing in the gently lapping waters and be amazed that we do not sink. Highly suggested is trying the well – known healing powers of minerals from the sea’s muddy floor. Take the time to view the spectacular sunset. Dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 – DEAD SEA – AMMAN
Early morning departure as we drive back to the Queen Alia airport for our return flight home. An end to an unforgettable journey as we arrive back in the States the same day.

DAY 1 – DEPART FOR CAIRO
We gather at the airport for our non-stop over-night flight to Amman, Jordan via Royal Jordanian Airlines.

DAY 2 – AMMAN – CAIRO
Late afternoon arrival in Queen Alia Airport time to walk around a bit before boarding a short half hour flight to Egypt. Upon our arrival at the Cairo International airport, we will be met by our land agents who will assist us through customs and security and gathering our luggage. Check into our hotel along the Nile for a late dinner and overnight.

DAY 3 – CAIRO
Following breakfast, we meet at the hotel’s lobby to explore desert antiquities dating from the beginning of a civilization that arose more than 5,000 years ago. In the company of our Egyptologist specialist guide, we venture through the countryside to visit some of Egypt’s oldest sights. We first go the Pyramids of Giza. Nothing evokes the long and intriguing history of Egypt as powerfully as the pyramids. Rising from the desert, Khufu (Cheops), Khafra and Menkaura seem to symbolize the enigmatic tug of Egypt in our imaginations. The Great Pyramid of Cheops immortalizes the son of Sneferu and Hetepheres. Though little is known of this pharaoh, his monument, the largest of the three, is comprised of 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing an average of 2.5 tons. There will be a stop for lunch before proceeding on our visit to the colossal statue of the Great Sphinx, which has stood guard over the pyramids for more than 4,500 years. Carved from an outcrop of rock, the Sphinx remains the ultimate symbol of Ancient Egypt with its lion’s body and human head. The history and the lifestyle of ancient Egyptian pharaohs come alive before our eyes through the skilled narrations of our specialist guide. Then will Visit the Memphis & the Step Pyramids in Sakkara. End the day back at our hotel in time for dinner and overnight.

DAY 4 – CAIRO NEW AND OLD
Today’s sightseeing will include our visit of the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo. The museum houses the greatest collection of pharaonic treasures in the world. Our guide will show us the highlights of these artifacts, including the Tutankhamen Collection of golden treasures and acquaint us with the museum’s expansive collections.

Lunch will be served at a pre arranged location. From here will visit the following sites: the Citadel of Salah El din, Mohamed ali Mosque, then we will visit some Christian and Jewish sites in the city. Proceed to Old Cairo to visit the Mualaka (Hanging Church) the oldest church in Old Cairo. It was built on the ruins of two old towers that remained from an old fortress called the Fortress of Babylon. It was dedicated to The Virgin Mary and St. Dimiana, dating back to the end of the 3rd Century AD. Behind it is the Ben Ezra Synagogue originally named El –Shamieen Church. The Synagogue once had an old copy of the Old Testament, and it was said that Ezra the Prophet (Al-Azir) had written it.

DAY 5 – CAIRO – LUXOR – KARNAK
After breakfast, we will board our flight for the spectacular two days in Luxor located 500 miles south of Cairo. We are assisted to our awaiting motorcoach to the East Bank of Karnak and the famous Luxor Temple. It was known in the New Kingdom period as Ipt-Ryst, which means the southern shrine. This was to differentiate between this Temple and the Karnak Tem-ple, which was the northern house of Amon Ra. Our guide will give us the history and the stories that are behind these amazing monumnets. Proceed to the East Bank of Karnak before check in at our hotel once again located on the banks of the Nile.

DAY 6 – SATURDAY – LUXOR- WEST BANK
We meet at the hotel’s lobby after breakfast and once again prepare for an amazing adventure as we drive to the West Bank, on our way we will encounter the monument that of two gigantic statues known as the Colossi of Memnon. The Greeks gave them their names, after the Trojan hero Mem-non, who was killed by Achilles. Proceed to visit the Valley of the Kings & Queens, including the Temple of Queen Hatshep-sut and el –Deir, el – Bahari one of the most characteristic temples in the whole of Egypt, due to its design and decora-tions. In the afternoon we will see the Luxor Museum, Habu Temple and Ramseum Temple.

Return to our hotel for relaxing at the pool or shopping in some of the unique shops along the promenade.

DAY 7 – LUXOR TO CAIRO
Transfer to the airport for our return flight to Cairo. After lunch will venture to the Bazaar of Khan el khalili, one of the most interesting bazaars, named after Prince Jaharkas Al –Khalili who was one of the most powerful Mamluke Princes in the 14th century. It is a famous traditional open market and prices are not fixed, remember to bargain – haggle to get the best price. The atmosphere of this site is a glimpse into what medieval markets once were like. Tonight will end with a special dinner on the Nile.

DAY 8 – CAIRO – AMMAN – PETRA
After our breakfast we bid farewell to our new found friends as we take our flight to Amman Jordan meet our Jordanian guide and driver as we board our motorcoach to Mt. Nebo where Moses stood to view the Promised Land. From here we head to Madaba – to see the oldest preserved ancient mosaic map of the Holy Land. Heading south we arrive in Wadi Musa in time for dinner and overnight.

DAY 9 – PETRA
Wake up this morning to a spectacular sunrise and the view of the red mountains. Following breakfast we begin our exploration of the huge archaeological site. We will see the spectacular “ city of the dead”, with its famous gorge, ancient streets, temples, dwelling places and tombs carved in solid rock. The day includes a two –mile journey on horse-back or a walk through the famous Siq – a natural gorge to arrive at the Treasury. See the Roman temple ruins, the Na-batean Judgment Hall, palace tombs, famous Urn Temple and the Roman Amphitheater. A climb of several hundred steps to the “high places” might appeal to the adventurous. Dinner and overnight back at our hotel.

DAY 10 – WADI RUM – DEAD SEA
After breakfast we travel south- east to WADI RUM, “Vast, echoing and God-like” these were the words T.E. Lawrence used to describe the region. See the uniquely shaped massive mountains that rise out of the rose-red desert sand. For two hours we will have the use of 4WD vehicles to assist us in the exploration of this magnificent desert scenery of strange beauty. Driving toward the Dead Sea we will take the scenic King’s Highway passing by the well conserved Crusader city of Kerak, and stop at Machaerus (Mukawir in Arabic), the hilltop stronghold of Herod the Great. It is here that his son imprisoned and finally beheaded John the Baptist. Dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 11 – DEAD SEA – BAPTISMAL SITE – JERASH
First thing in the morning we take a short drive to the recently discovered baptismal site of “Bethany beyond the Jordan” It is strongly suggested that the John the Baptist baptized Jesus in this area, located at the head of a lush valley just east of the River Jordan. Proceed to Jerash, acknowledged internationally as one of the largest and most well preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside of Italy, one of the Decapolas Cities of the Gospels.Today’s tour will transport you 2,000 years back in time. Return for dinner and overnight at our hotel.

DAY 12 – FRIDAY – DEAD SEA – AMMAN – U.S.A.
We have an early breakfast; meet in the lobby board our bus as we transfer to the airport for our morning flight home. We leave the region full of history with life-changing memories and lessons of what it was like to walk in the footsteps of Moses and Jesus.

Preparing For Your Tour

Once you have selected Tapestry International Tours for your journey, there are several things that you can do to enhance your actual travel experience.

Passport – Travelers must secure and maintain a valid passport throughout the trip. Non – residents need to check with the appropriate Embassy. A passport must be valid beyond six (6) months from the date of return. For in depth information please review http://travel.state.gov. For most of our destinations ( Turkey, Jordan and Egypt),when a visa is required, it can be easily obtained while clearing customs at the point of entry or Tapestry International Tours will arrange it for the group.

Travel Insurance: We highly suggest and recommend that all travelers buy comprehensive travel insurance whether it is purchased with our package or through an outside company.
